What is the difference between T type and Basket strainer type ?
T-type and Basket strainer type are two different types of strainers used for fluid filtration in pipelines. The main difference between the two is the shape of the strainer element and the way they are installed in the pipeline.
T-type strainers have a straight-through design, with a T-shaped body and a single strainer element located at the center of the T. The strainer element in a T-type strainer is usually a perforated plate or a wire mesh, which traps debris as the fluid flows through the strainer. T-type strainers are typically installed in the pipeline and can be used for both horizontal and vertical flow applications.
Basket strainer type, on the other hand, have a basket-shaped strainer element inside a cylindrical housing. The basket strainer is removable and can be cleaned or replaced when necessary. Basket strainer type are typically installed in the pipeline and can be used for both horizontal and vertical flow applications.
One advantage of basket strainer type over T-type strainers is that they have a larger strainer area, which allows for more efficient filtration and reduces the need for frequent cleaning. Basket strainer type are also more versatile and can be used for a wider range of fluid handling applications, while T-type strainer are typically used for lower flow rates or smaller pipelines.
In summary, the main difference between T-type and basket strainer type is the shape of the strainer element and the way they are installed in the pipeline, with basket type strainers generally offering larger strainer areas and greater versatility.
