operation of the Automatic Backwash Strainer "IWAKO" The Automatic Backwash Strainer works in the following steps:

-Unfiltered fluid enters the strainer through the inlet into the lower chamber, where it is slowed down and settled debris is collected.

-The fluid then passes upward and radially through a wedge wire straining element, which filters out debris larger than the slot size of the wire.

-The clean fluid continues through a properly proportioned flow path and exits through the strainer outlet.

-Backwashing can be initiated manually or automatically when the pressure difference between the line pressure and atmosphere is detected.

-During backwashing, a hollow tubular backwash assembly, connected to the atmosphere, rotates slowly in contact with the internal straining element. Only a small portion of the screen is isolated to ensure uninterrupted strainer operation.

-The pressure differential creates a reverse flow across the screen and into the tubular backwash assembly. A port shoe optimizes the effectiveness of the backwash jet stream.

-Debris is carried into the full port backwash manifold and discharged through the backwash connection. Throughout the operation, flow remains uninterrupted to minimize flow loss.

The "Automatic Backwash Strainer" is controlled by an electrical panel, actuated valve, and a differential pressure switch. The cleaning cycle can be initiated manually, based on differential pressure, or using a timer.
